If your hover buttons don't work on the Web,
chances are good that you didn't upload the Java applet files to your server.
There are two files, fphover.class and fphoverx.class, and they must be in a
directory called _fpclass within your root web. However, do NOT put the HTML
page that includes the buttons in that directory. You also need to have the
FrontPage server extensions installed. If your not sure if these files are in
the correct directory contact a tech support representative.
Using FTP can cause corruption to Microsoft
FrontPage Components. When creating web pages that use the FrontPage
components, ALWAYS transfer them to your web site using FrontPage.
This error is caused by using upper case characters
for the name of the folder (the default name of this folder when first using
the Discussion Wizard is "_disc1") in which the articles are stored.
Make sure your discussion web folders are all lower
case.
- Remove the search page from your site.
- In Frontpage Explorer Select Tools then select Recalculate
hyperlinks
- Add a new search page to your site.
If the search
function still does not work, contact a tech support rep.
FrontPage utilizes HTTP to communicate with the web
server. The command will not transfer the local FrontPage Server Extension
files to the target server. When using an FTP application, it is important to
transfer only the content files from the originating web server. Do not FTP any
_vti _* directories. If these directories or files are transferred, they will
overwrite the existing files on the target server.
